Exempt Essential Functions The Nurse Aide/Patient Care Technician Program Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, development, implementation, compliance, and evaluation of the Nurse Aide, Medication Aide, and Patient Care Technician programs. The coordinator ensures compliance with state and regulatory agency requirements while supporting student success, workforce development, and academic pathways within the Nursing and Allied Health Division.
Job Duties and Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate the daily operations of the Nurse Aide, Medication Aide, and Patient Care Technician programs. Ensure compliance with all applicable requirements of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC), Prometric, and other regulatory or accrediting agencies. Coordinate and maintain the approved Nurse Aide Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP) Regional Testing Center and schedule competency examinations with Prometric. Maintain program records, student files, clinical documentation, and regulatory reports as required by college policy and state agencies. Assist with curriculum development, course scheduling, instructional planning, and program implementation activities. Assists with the development, management, and monitoring of program budgets, including instructional supplies, laboratory resources, and clinical needs. Recruit, advise, and support prospective and enrolled students regarding program admission, progression, and completion requirements. Coordinate communication between faculty, staff, students, clinical agencies, and external partners. Assist with onboarding, orientation, training, and evaluation of instructors and program staff. Monitor instructor and program effectiveness to ensure instructional quality, student success, and regulatory compliance. Assist with clinical affiliation agreements and coordination of clinical learning experiences as assigned. Maintain testing equipment, instructional supplies, laboratory resources, and program materials. Assist in developing and maintaining program brochures, applications, website content, marketing materials, and community outreach activities. Assist with data collection, program assessment, grant support activities, and workforce reporting requirements. Participate in departmental meetings, college committees, professional development, and institutional activities. Perform other duties as assigned by the Nursing Division Director.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of an associate degree is required. Current, unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas with at least two years of experience with one year of nursing experience in long-term care preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships: Coordinate communication between faculty, staff, and prospective and enrolled students.
Preferred Qualifications:
Three (3) years' experience teaching in nurse aide program.
Supplemental Information Other Duties:
Participate in selected committees and other duties as assigned by the Nursing Division Director.
Travel Requirements:
Travel between the Beeville campus and extension sites, clinical agencies, testing locations, and college events is required.
Work Environment:
Work is performed primarily in an office, classroom, laboratory, and clinical environment with frequent interruptions and varying workflow demands. Occasional evening or weekend activities may be required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift instructional materials and equipment. Ability to operate standard office equipment and instructional technology. Ability to travel to clinical and extension sites. Ability to demonstrate clinical and laboratory skills as required.
