Job Description

COORDINATOR-SURGICAL SUPPLY CHAIN
Summary Under general direction of the Manager-Surgical Supply Chain Operations coordinates and plans, replenishment and delivery of assigned surgical implants and supply between the Vendor and Surgical Services. Plans, organizes, directs and controls inventory levels, stock replenishment and loaner implants in conjunction with the daily O/R schedule, consistent with best practice approach to safety, economic efficiency and organizational accountability and departmental policies. Establishes and maintains acceptable inventory levels of owned and consigned implants and surgical supplies, arranges for loaner implants according to departmental inventory management practices. Follows departmental business practices by securing inventory, replenishing owned and consignment inventory, matching implant usage with patient charge forms and inventory issues to confirm that proper patient billing. Effectively communicates concerns and issues to all appropriate parties regarding Supply Chain Management, Surgical Services, Surgeons, and Vendors. Follows through and communicates timely status on all requests. Coordinates and conducts physical inventory activities. Monitors and coordinates with Purchasing the ordering, receipt and return of consignment, loaner/trial items and specialty items. Works seamlessly with OR Leadership.
Experience:
Required:
• 3-5 years Surgical supply chain experience, acute-care hospital. Proficient in automated MMIS. Effective interpersonal, written, oral communication and organization skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
