Job Description

SUMMARY:
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe work environment across assigned facilities. This role supports both corporate and facility-level safety initiatives by ensuring compliance with safety regulations, assisting with inspections and training, and responding to incidents as needed. This position requires strong planning, independence, and a commitment to leading by example in workplace safety. Flexible scheduling is required, including the ability to respond to emergencies at any time and conduct periodic off-hour facility visits.
WORK DAYS / HOURS
Typical work schedule (Monday - Friday) with potential flexible work shifts required with the possibility that employee will respond, at any time of day or night, to investigate severe employee accidents, vehicle accidents or environmental spills. Employee, in conjunction with supervisor, will determine work shifts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Support safety teams with program implementation and OSHA compliance Conduct safety inspections and assist with audits Assist managers with procedures, training, and compliance Ensure completion of safety orientations and job-specific training Coordinate safety activities (fit testing, physicals, audits, scans) Prepare and deliver safety training Maintain safety records and documentation confidentially Respond to incidents and assist with investigations and cleanup Perform breath alcohol testing and support safety programs Oversee safety responsibilities for assigned operations Travel to facilities and conduct regular off-hours visits Assist with procurement and collaborate across divisions Maintain valid driver's license, driving record, and insurance
QUALIFICATIONS
College degree preferred; safety coursework or 1-3 years' experience a plus Knowledge of workplace safety and regulatory compliance Self-motivated; able to work independently and complete projects Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Strong communication (verbal and written) and training delivery skills Organized with solid planning and problem-solving abilities Handles confidential information with discretion Valid driver's license and clean record Willing to travel, work flexible hours, and respond to emergencies BAT certification or willingness to obtain (training provided)
