Job Description

Corporate Staff Accountant Colwen Hotels | Hospitality Accounting & Finance At Colwen Hotels, we believe great hospitality starts behind the scenes. Our accounting team plays a critical role in supporting the operational and financial success of a growing portfolio of hotels across the eastern United States. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Corporate Staff Accountant to join our corporate accounting team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, fast-paced hospitality environment while gaining exposure to multi-property hotel accounting operations. This position may be based either at our Portsmouth, NH or Andover, MA offices. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys ownership of their work, thrives in a team-oriented environment, and is looking to grow their career with a dynamic and expanding hospitality company. What You'll Do As a Corporate Staff Accountant, you will support the financial operations of multiple hotel properties and assist with month-end close, reporting, reconciliations, and compliance processes.
Key responsibilities include:
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements for assigned hotel properties Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, prepaids, and reclasses Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax filings Support accounts receivable research and discrepancy resolution Participate in month-end and year-end close processes Assist with external audits and financial reporting requests Collaborate with hotel operations teams and corporate departments Support process improvements and special accounting projects as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2+ years of accounting experience preferred Hospitality, multi-entity, or multi-location accounting experience is a plus Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications Experience with Sage Intacct or similar accounting systems preferred Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong communication and problem-solving skills Professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in handling financial information Why Join Colwen Hotels?
