Correctional Officer — Crawford County Sheriff's Office Pay $18.00-$22.00/hr depending on experience + full county benefits About this role The Crawford County Sheriff's Office is hiring full-time Correctional Officers for our jail division. This is a serious position that demands reliability, composure under pressure, and a genuine commitment to public safety. What you'll do Supervise inmate activities during booking, housing, meals, recreation, and transport Conduct routine facility checks, headcounts, and searches Respond to emergencies and disturbances — staying calm when it matters most Write clear, accurate incident reports and maintain documentation Enforce facility rules and maintain a secure, orderly environment every shift Who we're looking for 18 years or older with a high school diploma or GED Valid Kansas driver's license with a clean record Able to pass a background check, drug/alcohol screening, physical, and psychological exam Strong communicator who stays level-headed in high-stress situations Available to work rotating shifts — days, nights, and overnights, including weekends and holidays. This is a 24/7 facility and scheduling flexibility is required. Candidates with prior experience in corrections, law enforcement, security, or the military will receive strong preference in the hiring process.
