Job Description

Correctional Registered Nurse (RN) - Job Description A Correctional Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing comprehensive healthcare services to inmates within a secure correctional facility. The RN ensures patient care is delivered safely, ethically, and in compliance with correctional policies and healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct intake assessments, physical examinations, and ongoing health evaluations Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments as prescribed Respond to medical emergencies, perform triage, and provide critical care interventions Monitor and manage chronic and acute medical conditions, including mental health needs Supervise and delegate tasks to LPNs, CNAs, and other healthcare staff Maintain accurate documentation of patient care in EMR systems Conduct sick calls and address inmate health concerns in a timely manner Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and correctional facility protocols Provide patient education on health conditions, medications, and preventive care Coordinate referrals and follow-up care with external providers when necessary
Skills & Qualifications:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills Ability to work in a secure, high-pressure environment Experience in correctional, psychiatric, ER, or acute care settings preferred Proficiency in EMR systems and medical documentation Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills #
NonVMSNursing Pay:
$33.00 - $36.00 per hour
