The Division of Adult Institution is recruiting to fill a Corrections Sentencing Associate position at either the entry or Senior level. This position is based out of Waupun Correctional Institution in Waupun, WI.

Position Summary This position is responsible for technical services to Persons In Our Care to include effectively processing detainers, sentence computations, and releases of Persons In Our Care. This position has responsibility for meeting all legal requirements and requires a broad working knowledge of the Statutes, Administrative Code, and changes, as well as court decisions and their proper implication concerning admissions and releases, incarceration, and sentencing computations to ensure the lawful commitment and release of Persons In Our Care. The Corrections Sentencing Associate may assist with processing Public Record Requests and will serve as back up to the other Records Office staff as needed. Salary Information The Corrections Sentencing Associate is in pay schedule and range 02-12 with a starting pay of $24.12/hour . The Corrections Sentencing Associate - Senior is in the pay schedule and range 02-14 with a starting pay of $28.20/hour. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A 12-month probationary period is required. Job Details Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting. This position is eligible to work remotely up to 1 day per week. Qualifications The qualifications listed below will be evaluated in the first step of the selection process and must be clearly described in the letter of qualification and resume : Minimally qualified applicants will have experience: Performing mathematical calculations for specific work - related programs (e.g. budget preparation, account, offender sentence computations, etc.). Utilizing computer programs (such as: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Google sheets, Doc, etc.) for creating, updating, and maintain documents and databases. Maintaining, analyzing, and auditing of files according to established policies/procedures/statutes, etc. In addition to the above and to be considered at the senior level, well qualified applicants will have experience: Interpreting and applying policies, procedures, rules and regulations. Working with legal documents such as judgments of conviction, revocation orders, warrants, etc. Corresponding with external stakeholders (such as law enforcement agencies, legal aid societies, attorneys, etc. How To Apply To apply, click on "Apply for Job" to start the application process.
