Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Make a positive impact on students' lives by providing vital occupational therapy support in an academic setting. As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) working in a dynamic school environment, you will collaborate closely with occupational therapists, teachers, and other school professionals to enhance students' functional abilities and promote their academic independence.
Qualifications & Experience:
Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Relevant state licensure required Experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations valued Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to implement individualized treatment plans under supervision of an OT Adaptable, patient, and passionate about helping students achieve developmental goals
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the occupational therapist in evaluating students' needs and documenting progress Deliver therapeutic interventions to small groups and individuals, fostering improved motor skills, coordination, and daily living tasks in a school setting Support students' participation in classroom activities by adapting materials, tools, and environments for accessibility Collect data, maintain detailed records, and contribute to individualized education plans (IEPs) Educate and collaborate with teachers and families to carry over strategies into daily routines and activities Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and ongoing staff development Experience the rewards of enabling students to grow and thrive in both their school life and beyond.
