• Sedro-Woolley, WA QXO (formerly Builders Alliance) Starting at $20/hour + DOE QXO (formerly Builders Alliance) is seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Counter Sales Associate to join our team at our Sedro-Woolley location.

This is not a traditional retail role — our team works closely with contractors, builders, and homeowners, so general knowledge of lumber and building materials is required. Position Summary The Counter Sales Associate is responsible for assisting contractor and DIY customers with product selection, material needs, and project support. This role requires general knowledge of lumber, hardware, and building materials, along with strong customer service and communication skills. In addition to sales responsibilities, this position supports overall store operations including merchandising, inventory management, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide outstanding customer service to contractors, builders, homeowners, and walk-in customers Assist customers with product selection, estimating basic material needs, and project support Recommend appropriate building materials based on customer requirements and construction knowledge Build sales through product knowledge, upselling, and relationship building Maintain working knowledge of lumber, hardware, building materials, and current promotions Assist with merchandising, stocking, displays, and overall store organization Receive, stock, and replenish inventory as needed Accurately process sales transactions and maintain POS accountability Follow company procedures related to pricing, signage, safety, and loss prevention Communicate customer feedback and operational needs to management Support additional store and yard operations as needed Qualifications High school diploma or GED required General knowledge of lumber, building materials, and construction products required 1-3 years of sales or customer service experience preferred Lumberyard, hardware, or building materials experience strongly preferred Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Basic computer and point-of-sale system proficiency Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment Compensation & Benefits Starting at $20/hour + DOE Medical, dental, and vision insurance Free $35,000 life insurance policy 401(k) with employer match 8 paid holidays per year 2 weeks of paid vacation in your first year Employee discount and additional company benefits Join QXO and be part of a team that helps customers and contractors successfully complete their building projects every day.
