The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of welding techniques and a strong desire to learn and grow within the company. At ICM, our welders are craftsmen. You don t stand at one station running the same weld all day. You build parts from scratch, take ownership of your work, and develop skills that make you more valuable across your career. If you re coming from an assembly-line environment, that experience matters-but the work here is different and more hands-on. Key Responsibilities:
Perform welding tasks using various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, arc welding) on different materials such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements. Set up and operate welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently. Inspect and test welded joints to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols and procedures. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects on time and to the highest quality standards.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Basic knowledge of welding techniques and equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Good communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies. Physical stamina and ability to work in various positions and environments.
Required Knowledge & Experience:
1-3 years welding and fabricating experience or equivalent combination of welding classes and experience preferred
Skills/Abilities:
Must possess capability to perform quality welding techniques and be qualified for carbon and stainless-steel welding in basic processes and positions Must have basic ability to read, analyze, and interpret fabrication drawings Must have ability to use tape measures, squares, levels, and various layout tools Ability to identify beam, angle, channel, and other types of materials by size, thickness, and type preferred
Physical Activities and Requirements:
Manufacturing environment may be exposed to extremes in temperature, hazardous or moving equipment, loud noises, and crowded environments, continually. Standing, walking, bending continuously. May be required to work at elevations of up to 60 feet. Travel may be required to complete projects. Hours worked beyond 40 hours a week will be paid as overtime.
Physical Strength:
This job may require lifting of up to 75 pounds continuously. #icmcareers1
