Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Crane Operator to join our team in supporting rig up and rig down operations on frac sites. The ideal candidate will have experience operating cranes and other heavy equipment in oilfield environments, with a strong focus on precision, efficiency, and safety. This position plays a key role in assembling and dismantling well service equipment, supporting high-pressure pumping units, and coordinating critical lifts under varying site conditions. Key Responsibilities Operate cranes and other heavy equipment to lift, place, and remove components during rig up and rig down activities. Coordinate with rig supervisors and crew members to ensure safe and efficient equipment movement and placement. Conduct pre-operational inspections and routine maintenance of cranes and lifting equipment to ensure proper functioning. Maintain constant communication with ground personnel via radio or hand signals to coordinate lifts safely. Assist in staging, loading, and offloading frac iron, pumps, manifolds, and other field equipment. Monitor job site conditions and make adjustments to crane operation as needed to ensure stability and safety. Follow all OSHA, DOT, and company-specific safety policies and protocols at all times. Participate in regular safety meetings and required training sessions to stay compliant with industry standards. Qualifications Previous experience in crane operation on oil & gas or frac sites preferred. NCCCO or equivalent crane operator certification required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire. Familiarity with hydraulic boom cranes; experience with Caterpillar or similar equipment is a plus. CDL (Class A) preferred; knowledge of safe equipment transport procedures is beneficial. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to interpret basic lift plans and communicate clearly with field teams. Physically fit and able to work outdoors in various weather and terrain conditions. Must be able to work long hours, weekends, and be on-call as needed.
