Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-ICU Job Type Contract Deliver comprehensive, critical care with a leading Level III Trauma Center's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. This contract opportunity involves direct care for adults with a broad range of diagnoses, including substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock. The 20-bed MICU is staffed with supportive attendings and residents available 24/7.
Schedule/Hours:
MICU Night shifts, Every Other Weekend required 36 or 48 hours per week options Floating to Medical/Surgical units is required (high acuity: 1:2 or 1:1;
Med/Surg:
up to 1:4 or 1:5) Night shifts do not rotate; day positions rotate between 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a
Qualifications:
Active RN license in Massachusetts BLS and ACLS certifications At least 2 years of continuous recent ICU experience, preferably in a MICU Proven ability to interpret telemetry strips Demonstrated flexibility for floating to Med/Surg units, with up to 4-5 patients Strong clinical judgment and prioritization skills in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment Familiarity and comfort with
EPIC EMR
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct nursing care to critically ill adult patients with diverse complexities Assess, plan, and implement individualized care in a dynamic, multidisciplinary setting Provide escalation and de-escalation of care based on patient needs and telemetry data Collaborate closely with physicians, residents, and allied health professionals Maintain meticulous, timely documentation in EPIC Float to Med/Surg units as needed, adjusting care approach to varying patient ratios
