Day, Evening, and Weekend Shifts MBH is scheduled to open in June 2026, and we are building our team in preparation. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to plan and execute engaging activity services for our patients, contributing directly to their treatment goals and overall well-being. As a valued member of our interdisciplinary team, you'll provide ongoing care, engagement, and positive role modeling for patients, fostering an environment conducive to healing and growth. Responsible for observing and applying sound judgment in patients' physical and mental conditions/needs. Document and communicate changes in patients' appearance, behavior, and ability to work towards treatment plan goals. Provide an assessment of psychosocial/leisure and recreational skills development/deficiency. Assist patients in achieving their optimum level of independent functioning. Plan and implement activity therapy for the assigned patient case load within the facility. Model and teach patients appropriate social, coping, and stress-management techniques. Contribute to treatment plans with specific goals and therapeutic interventions. Your Experience Matters What we're looking for:

Education & Licensure:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in occupational therapy, art, music, recreational therapy, humanities, or movement therapy. CTRS. Master's degree preferred. Certification or licensure by the state of Illinois and/or national governing body in the following areas: art, occupational, recreation, or music therapy.

Experience:

One (1) year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques, and understanding of mental illness preferred.

Additional Skill Requirements:

Successful completion of CPR Certification and successful completion of CPI prior to assisting with a restraining procedure and within 30 days of employment. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours. Compensation:

We are seeking full-time, part-time, and PRN Recreational / Activity Therapists. Compensation ranges from $24.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on employment status, experience, qualifications, and skill level. Join us as our CTRS / Activity Therapist!
