The Cultivation Agent provides on-site cultivation for one or more cannabis gardens in accordance with state regulations and the standards set forth by PTS Corp. This position is responsible for completing tasks assigned to monitor and maintain plant production and health and executing daily plant care tasks such as watering, pruning, defoliating, and trimming. The Cultivation Agent helps maintain workspace cleanliness and follows strict quality control measures to ensure high-quality product. Duties/Responsibilities Learning and following company agricultural practices; Ensure daily compliance with policies including but not limited to; state compliance, security protocols, and company SOPs. Daily plant care that includes watering, pruning, defoliating, de-fanning, and trimming. Transplanting, potting, trellising, netting, plant training, and other various plant production related activities needed throughout the cultivation process.Cloning:
cutting, rooting, and transplanting; clone care, watering, and feeding; clone monitoring and climate control. Monitoring plant growth, health, and appearance in the grow rooms; regularly inspecting plants for signs of pests and/or disease; report any insect, pest, or mold issues to management. Documenting and recording the application of all nutrients and/or substances applied to all plants. Maintaining organization, cleanliness, and efficiency of production area. Make sure tools and equipment are maintained and calibrated as needed General cleaning duties, e.g., scrubbing and sanitizing trays and tools and cleaning miscellaneous growing equipment such as light reflectors and ventilation equipment. Sanitizing rooms post-harvest according to best practices. Adhering to strict biological security protocols to aid in the efforts of preventing contamination. Performing other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Must be physically able to climb ladders or scaffolding, bend, kneel, or crawl into awkward spaces. Prolonged periods of standing and walking. Prolonged periods of hand use. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at appropriate times as this position may be exposed to splash hazards, high temperatures, and chemicals.Must Haves Education and Experience:
To remain compliant with state law, you must be 21 years of age or older and can pass a background check to obtain a Department of Agriculture Agent Card. High school diploma or equivalent required. 2+ years of experience in a general production or manufacturing position.Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective time-management skills and ability to multi-task. Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment. Maintains a positive and professional attitude. Works well with others as a team player. Capability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees. Desired Qualifications Associate degree in Horticulture, Plant Science or Cannabis Production preferred. 2+ years of experience in general cannabis cultivation, commercial production gardening, or agricultural setting.
