The Custodial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and functional environment within facilities. This role combines general custodial duties with basic maintenance tasks to ensure buildings, equipment, and grounds are well cared for and operate efficiently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Custodial Duties:

Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors. Empty trash and recycling containers. Replenish supplies such as paper products, soap, and cleaning materials. Follow proper cleaning and sanitation standards.

Maintenance Duties:

Perform minor repairs (e.g., plumbing leaks, light fixture replacement, door adjustments) Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment. Assist with preventative maintenance tasks. Set up and tear down rooms for meetings or events. Report major repair needs or safety concerns to a supervisor. Daily boiler room and building rounds. Other duties as assigned.

Safety & Compliance:

Follow OSHA and company safety guidelines. Use cleaning chemicals and equipment properly. Maintain a safe and hazard-free environment.

Experience:

Technical certificate or three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Valid driver's license required.

Technical Competencies:

Demonstrates good customer service and possesses basic knowledge in safety and security, general cleaning and sanitizing, minor upholstery cleaning, and inventory tracking.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with tens. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a basic understanding of Microsoft Outlook and Teams, along with building management and security system software.

Industry Competencies:

General insurance industry knowledge.

Language Skills:

Ability to write simple correspondence as well as read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Work Environment:

This position requires an in-office presence. The hours for this role are flexible between 12:00 pm to 8 pm, Monday through Friday. The candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience; qualifications, licensure and certifications; knowledge; skills; business and organizational needs; and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
