Custodial/Housekeeping Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodial/Housekeeping Specialist to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cleaning and janitorial services, with experience in various cleaning techniques and maintenance tasks. The Custodial/Housekeeping Specialist will perform routine cleaning duties, manage floor care procedures, and assist with light maintenance tasks to ensure our medical center meets high standards of hygiene and presentation. The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment both internal/external for the Broad Top Area Medical Center. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning tasks, ensuring that all areas are well-maintained and presentable.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing
• Clean and disinfect restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas, such as the waiting room, including wiping down office counters
• Clean and disinfect Patient Care areas after clinical staff have cleansed areas such as exam tables, chairs and desks
• Empty Trash and recycling bins both inside and outside the facility
• Maintain inventory of cleansing supplies (stock exam rooms) and notify management of low stock levels
• Report on maintenance issues, such as broken fixtures or plumbing problems, to the supervisor
• Set up and take down furniture and equipment for events or meetings
• Ensure safety protocols and cleaning procedures are followed
• Assist with outdoor maintenance, including removal and landscaping as needed
• Respond to emergency cleaning requests promptly . Vacuum all carpeted areas
• Mop all tiled areas
• Clean sliding glass windows (inside and outside)
• Clean Kitchen area and maintain organization within the space
• Cut grass (as needed)
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment (e.g., floor buffers, vacuums)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
