GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
• High School Diploma or GED - Minimum baseline for entry into the field.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES, Cleaning & Sanitation Daily Maintenance:
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and buff floors. Clean and dust furniture, fixtures, and windows.
Restroom Upkeep:
Sanitize toilets, sinks, and mirrors. Restock essential supplies like soap, paper towels, and toilet tissue.
Waste Management:
Empty trash and recycling bins, ensuring proper disposal and replacing liners.
Specialized Cleaning:
Perform deep-cleaning tasks such as carpet shampooing or floor stripping and waxing during scheduled intervals.
Facility Maintenance & Security Minor Repairs:
Replace light bulbs, tighten loose fixtures, and report major maintenance issues to management.
Safety & Security:
Ensure all doors and windows are locked at the end of shifts. Monitor building heating and cooling systems for basic functionality.
External Care:
Maintain building entrances by sweeping debris or clearing walkways.
Compliance & Safety Chemical Safety:
Properly handle, mix, and store cleaning chemicals according to SDS (Safety Data Sheets) and OSHA regulations.
Resource Management:
Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and request orders before stock runs low.
Required Skills & Qualifications Physical Stamina:
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive motions.
Technical Knowledge:
Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment (floor buffers, pressure washers, vacuums). Attention to
Detail:
A commitment to high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Reliability:
Strong time-management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Common Requirements Category Requirement Education High School Diploma or GED preferred. Experience Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work is a plus. Training Knowledge of basic sanitation protocols and safety procedures. Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.
