Custodian

Performs manual work in the care and cleaning of buildings, opening and securing buildings, performing minor building maintenance, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the direction of immediate supervisor. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Essential Functions:

Sweeps, vacuums and mops assigned areas and rooms. Removes trash from rooms and buildings and puts in dumpster Scrubs and cleans restrooms including mirrors, wash basins, commodes, etc.; fills tissue, towel and soap dispensers. Dusts shelves, furniture, walls, window sills and other woodwork; cleans and dusts window blinds. Cleans glass doors and partitions. Performs simple building maintenance work, such as changing light fixtures; notifies supervisor of any noted issues with buildings. Prepares supplies and equipment for cleaning needs. Follows specific schedules and duties as outlined by each department. Abides by, enforces and participates in the implementation and ongoing oversight of the City's safety standards and regulations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

General knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment; ability to understand and follow oral and written directions; ability to perform manual work; ability to read and follow written directions; ability to maintain safety expectations for the position; ability to display thoroughness and cleanliness; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED.

Physical Requirements:

This work requires the frequent exertion of up to 10 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work frequently walking and lifting and occasionally requires standing, sitting, using hands to finger, handle or feel, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and repetitive motions;

Special Requirements:

Valid Drivers License in the State of North Carolina The Salary Range for this position is a Minimum of $41,448.84 with a Maximum of $45,000. The City of Randleman Provides Free Health Insurance to the Employee for the Base Plan, a contribution of 5% into a 401K Plan, a Hiring Bonus Of $1,000 Payable at the Time of Hire, First Year Anniversary, And Second Year Anniversary.
