Custodian

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to maintain cleanliness and safety at our school district site. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial or residential cleaning, janitorial services, or facilities maintenance. This role is essential in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for employees, students, teachers and visitors. The Custodian will perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks, contributing to the overall upkeep and appearance of our premises.

Hours/Days:

Monday-Friday While summer break for the school district is taking place the hours will change to 7am to 5pm. Responsibilities Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal Maintain floors through buffing, stripping, and polishing to ensure a professional appearance Conduct specialized cleaning such as carpet cleaning, window washing, and restroom sanitation Assist with custodial tasks related to industrial cleaning and facilities maintenance Ensure all classrooms are well sanitized and cleaned Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently Follow safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to upper management Maintain cleaning supplies inventory and notify supervisors when supplies need replenishing Skills Proven experience in janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning roles Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and stripping Familiarity with industrial cleaning methods and facilities maintenance Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and safety standards Good organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the cleanliness and safety of our facilities while developing valuable skills in custodial maintenance.
