Our Lady of the Gulf is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Part-Time Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our parish community. The custodian will be responsible for the upkeep of the church, parish hall, restrooms, and other facilities, ensuring that they are well-maintained for worship services, events, and daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine cleaning of the church, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces. Clean and restock restrooms regularly. Empty trash and recycling bins throughout the facility. Set up and break down chairs, tables, and other equipment for events, meetings, and services. Ensure that entryways and common areas remain neat and accessible. Perform light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and minor repairs. Monitor and report any maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate staff. Assist with seasonal cleaning tasks, such as deep cleaning before major liturgical celebrations. Secure the building by locking doors and turning off lights as needed. Complete monthly Fire equipment checks.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Prior custodial or janitorial experience preferred. Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods. Dependability, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic. Respect for the church's mission and an understanding of working in a faith-based environment. Ability to work independently and follow instructions. Availability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or evenings for special events.
