Customer Service Dispatcher

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Customer Service Dispatcher to join our logistics team. In this vital role, you will coordinate transportation activities, manage freight and delivery schedules, and serve as the primary communication link between drivers, carriers, and clients. Responsibilities Dispatch drivers and carriers efficiently using transportation management systems (TMS) to optimize routes and delivery schedules. Coordinate freight shipments, shipping & receiving activities, and fleet management tasks to meet customer expectations. Utilize GPS technology and GIS tools to track vehicle locations, monitor routes, and provide real-time updates. Maintain accurate data entry through typing and multi-line phone systems, ensuring all dispatch records are current and precise. Communicate clearly with drivers, vendors, and customers via phone etiquette and professional communication skills to resolve issues promptly. Monitor supply chain operations, analyze transportation data, and generate reports for continuous improvement efforts. Support logistics functions by managing transportation planning, 3PL (third-party logistics) coordination, and shipping documentation. Handle all driver communications. Have a good understanding of DOT Requirements and HOS Requirements. Good Understanding of email. Skills Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret transportation data for effective decision-making. Proficiency in transportation management systems; familiarity with Samsara is a plus. GIS, GPS

tracking, freight management, and logistics principles to support efficient dispatching. Excellent communication skills combined with professional phone etiquette for interacting with internal teams and external partners. Experience with shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management software, and supply chain coordination. Ability to handle multiple priorities using multi-line phone systems while maintaining attention to detail in data entry tasks. Familiarity with transportation planning tools like SyteLine or similar ERP systems; understanding of 3PL operations enhances effectiveness.
