We are headquartered in Newington, CT and are looking for a Customer Service Representative to join our growing team. An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer-AA/EOE/M/F/D/V SUMMARY The primary responsibility of the Customer Service Representative is to support a fast-moving janitorial supplies distribution business. This position also supports the Outside Sales Team through proposal generation, market research, and superior customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service using professional communication skills Maintain company pricing matrix and online ordering system Proactively calls customers/prospects to set appointments for Outside Sales Team Negotiate price levels to maintain a competitive position Generate sales proposals Maintain customer relations through proactive outreach Provide technical sales support for all customer inquiries Maintain and report on customer satisfaction metrics Introduce new product offerings to the customer base Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment Job Requirements Degree Preferred or 3-5 years of documented customer service experience Knowledge of current industry trends and sales techniques Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Superior telephone/customer service skills Working knowledge of basic computer applications and experience with CRM platforms is a must Must have a customer service mindset and be able to proactively offer solutions Must be detailed oriented and possess excellent time management and time management skills Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills Must be analytical and have documented problem-solving skills Physical Skills The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
