Job Description
SUMMARY The position of Customer Service Representative (CSR) provides account services to customers by receiving and processing deposits and loan payments; cashing checks; issuing savings withdrawals; recording night and mail deposits; and selling cashier's checks; answering questions in person or on telephone; referring to other bank services. They are also responsible for backing up the Personal Bankers in performing intermediate duties and support related to branch operational activities and financial services by opening, maintaining and closing of all account types. In addition, they are required to perform branch clerical duties; promoting business for the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services. The position of CSR also is required to be fully knowledgeable and skilled in the areas of teller, vault, safe deposit, and is required to provide leadership, training and support to less experienced branch staff members. Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as, all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES 1.
Provides support to all assigned areas of branch operations where service or assistance is needed, including new accounts, teller, safe deposit, vault teller and lending. 2. Operates personal computer to process account activity; determine balances and resolve problems within given authority. 3. Processes loan transactions; consumer, commercial and real estate loan payments and advances; processes reports and callbacks. 4. Provides effective customer service by answering customer questions; investigates and corrects errors; and resolves problems or other issues. 5. Issues official checks, traveler's checks, etc. 6. Performs safe deposit duties by opening accounts, controlling access, assisting customers and processing affiliated reports. 7. Receives and processes stop payment and hold orders. 8. Processes wire transfers, address changes, check and deposit slip orders, and endorsement stamp orders. 9. Records, files, scans documents, updates information and sort's mail or reports as required. 10. Gathers data and process various reports and callbacks. 11. Answers telephones and directs callers to proper Bank personnel. 12. Assists consumer and business customers in their selection of various accounts, products and financial services available from the Bank; ensures cross-sell opportunities are presented by applying professional sales techniques. 13. Interviews customers to obtain information; establishes proper identification of new customers; determines need and extent of reference investigation; assists customers in completing credit applications. 14. Discusses, prepares and processes documents related to the Bank'sELECTRONIC BANKING
services. 15. Discusses and accepts credit card applications for submission to the appropriate personnel. 16. Discusses and accepts merchant card applications for submission to the appropriate personnel. 17. Makes decisions regarding the opening of new accounts; assigns account numbers; completes forms requiring customer signature(s); checks credit history; accepts initial deposits; prepares all documents and items pertaining to checking accounts, savings accounts and certificates of deposit for processing. 18. May represent the Bank in various community, civic, and community reinvestment functions to further enhance the Bank's image and develop additional business. 19. Processes DDA lines of credit/debit card applications, card ordering and file maintenance. 20. Processes statements, renewal notices and interest payments for IRA and certificates of deposit accounts. 21. May assist in opening and closing the vault daily; assists in balancing vault currency and coin. 22. Cross-trains less experienced branch personnel. 23. Types routine letters reports and forms. 24. Maintains files, copies and faxes documents, and orders and distributes supplies. 25. Performs official notary service duties. 26. The employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations and orders issued pursuant to the OSHA Act of 1970, which are applicable to one's own actions and conduct.Pay:
