Job Description

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience by providing information about Buyers Barricades products and services, taking orders, and processing returns. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Answer customer calls for price quotes, purchase orders, change orders, and cancellations. Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls. Assist walk-in customers when applicable. Dispatch field crews for after-hours emergency calls ("taking phones") Achieve and maintain rapport with customers to give them the best possible service. Follow up with customers to ensure overall customer satisfaction. Work closely with the Operations department regarding scheduling. Collaborate with outside sales rep to determine necessary strategic sales approaches. Partner with Accounting to ensure new accounts are setup in a timely manner. Accurate file and document maintenance. Maintain knowledge on product lines and industry standards. Prepare appropriate reports in a timely manner. Competencies Communication Proficiency Dependable/Reliable Detail Oriented Teamwork Technical Capacity Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Customer Service Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Ability to multi-focus Communication Skills Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, fax/scan/copier and filing cabinets. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may be required to lift/move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. with occasional Saturdays. Travel Occasional local travel may be required for this position.
