This is NOT just a personal training position.
This role combines:
Coaching Client success & retention Operational leadership Trainer oversight Systems management High-end client experience management At Summit, clients receive: A private training environment Customized coaching plans Ongoing accountability Structured progress tracking Premium recovery amenities The Head Trainer & Client Success Manager plays a critical role in ensuring every client receives a consistent, professional, high-level experience from onboarding through long-term retention. This role is responsible for helping oversee the entire coaching ecosystem inside Summit. What Makes This Role Different Unlike traditional gym management or trainer roles, this position focuses heavily on: Client retention Operational leadership Coaching systems Accountability Organization Long-term client success The Head Trainer conducts consultations, helps oversee onboarding, manages client success systems, oversees programming standards, and ensures trainers are executing at a high level. Personal Trainers then execute the day-to-day sessions and workouts based on the systems and structure built by the Head Trainer.

Job Duties/Responsibilities Oversee overall client experience and retention systems Conduct recurring Head Trainer/client check-ins Assist with consultations and client onboarding Oversee programming quality and nutrition accountability Ensure trainers are maintaining high coaching standards Communicate with trainers regarding: client progress schedule adjustments accountability coaching quality Monitor client attendance, engagement, and consistency Follow up with inactive or at-risk clients proactively Ensure all clients consistently feel supported and communicated with Oversee scheduling and calendar management across coaching staff Maintain organization across client systems and operational workflows Ensure operational systems and SOPs are executed consistently Improve systems and processes proactively when inefficiencies are identified Maintain gym presentation, cleanliness, and overall experience standards Reads, watches, and engages in all required trainings associated with the role Maintains professionalism, urgency, and leadership within the facility at all times Compensation & Incentive StructureBase Salary $65,000-$85,000 depending on: Experience Operational background Leadership ability Additional Bonus & Incentive Potential Additional $2,000-$5,000+ per month possible based on: Client retention Operational performance Sales / consult performance Overall gym growth Systems execution Leadership performance Benefits & PerksFull Complimentary Facility Access All leadership team members receive: 24/7 gym access Sauna access Cold plunge access Recovery tools (NormaTec, etc.) InBody scanner access Growth Opportunities Long-term opportunities may include: Expanded leadership responsibilities Multi-location leadership Franchise or regional management opportunities Operational growth positions within Summit Health & Fitness Minimum Required QualificationsEducation High School Diploma or GED Experience Requirements 3-5+ years coaching experience Strong understanding of: strength training program design client accountability coaching systems Comfortable managing multiple moving pieces simultaneously Comfortable working with high-end clientele Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Extremely organized and detail-oriented Strong follow-through and urgency High ownership mentality Strong leadership and professionalism Strong problem-solving ability Ability to: Lead and oversee trainers Maintain operational structure Manage scheduling and accountability systems Communicate effectively with clients and staff Operate inside a fast-paced, high-accountability environment Preferred Qualifications Boutique/private training studio experience Experience overseeing trainers or teams Nutrition coaching experience Experience with: Trainerize Mindbody Asana Similar coaching or operational systems Experience with client retention/accountability systems Certifications Nationally recognized certification preferred:
NASM ACE CSCS ISSA
Or equivalent (Strong operational leadership and coaching ability are significantly more important than advanced certifications.)
