Job Description
Clark County Community Services is seeking a dependable, organized, and compassionate Pantry Manager to oversee daily operations of the Frye Food Pantry. This position plays an important role in ensuring that individuals and families in our community have access to food and essential resources in a respectful, efficient, and dignified manner. The Pantry Manager is responsible for maintaining pantry organization, managing food inventory, assisting with orders and donations, coordinating pantry flow, communicating with clients, staff, and volunteers, and ensuring the pantry remains clean, safe, and well-stocked. This position requires someone who can work in a fast-paced environment, stay organized under pressure, and treat every client with dignity and respect.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily pantry operations and client service flow. Maintain organized pantry, storage, freezer, and warehouse areas. Receive, sort, stock, and rotate food donations and deliveries. Monitor inventory, expiration dates, and high-demand food items. Assist with donation tracking and pantry supply needs. Communicate clearly with clients, staff, volunteers, donors, and partner agencies. Provide direction and support to pantry volunteers and staff as needed. Ensure pantry areas remain clean, safe, and compliant with agency procedures. Uphold CCCS policies and maintain client confidentiality. Represent CCCS in a professional and compassionate manner.
Qualifications:
Strong organizational skills required. Good communication and customer service skills required. Must be dependable, professional, and able to work well with a team. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. Must be able to stand, bend, carry, load, unload, and move inventory throughout the workday. Basic computer skills required. Forklift experience is a plus. Experience in food pantry operations, warehouse/inventory management, social services, retail, or nonprofit work is preferred. Must be able to work with individuals in crisis with patience, compassion, and appropriate boundaries. This position requires both physical work and strong people skills, as the Pantry Manager is responsible for maintaining an organized pantry while also helping ensure clients feel respected and supported. The ideal candidate is organized, calm under pressure, compassionate, and able to balance efficient pantry operations with respectful client service. This person should be comfortable working in both a warehouse-style environment and a client-facing social service setting.
Pay:
$14.00 - $16.00 per hour
