DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Service Manager supports the Service Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the service department. This role ensures efficient workflow, high-quality service delivery, strong customer relationships, and team performance. This position operates primarily in a professional office environment, with regular interaction across office staff, service technicians, and customers. Occasional exposure to shop/service areas may occur.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a future leader of Sennebogen LLC, and in an organized fashion, the Assistant Service Manager supports the Service Manager in all areas Using fundamental leadership skills, the Assistant Service Manager is responsible for enforcing established policies, procedures and standards, address any warranty issues, scheduling jobs for the factory field representatives, monitoring progress, ensuring the quality and timely completion of jobs, exceeding customer expectations, and the safety of team members The Assistant Service Manager will support with training, motivating, and monitoring the performance of the service department and adjust accordingly The Assistant Service Manager will work closely with the Service Manager to develop business goals for the service department which includes interviewing and hiring personnel The Assistant Service Manager will be responsible for assisting customers with machine up time and recommend necessary repair services In addition, to ensure complete customer satisfaction by delivering timely completion of high-quality machine repairs and maintenance, Assistant Service Manager must direct the workflow of both the Factory Service Representatives and the Inside Service Support team While driving the sales initiatives of Sennebogen LLC, the Assistant Service Manager must communicate directly with customers, assess customer needs, provide information regarding requested and/or necessary repairs and maintenance, ensure customers are satisfied with their experience and strive to meet customer expectations through follow-ups and honest communication
QUALIFICATIONS
Two-year certificate or equivalent experience: A technical certificate or associate's degree in a related field is preferred, but a combination of experience can also meet the requirements. Five years of related management experience: Experience in a similar environment, particularly in a service or repair setting, is highly valued.
Sound mechanical knowledge:
A good understanding of mechanical principles (hydraulics, electrical, etc.) and equipment is essential.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong business acumen: Understanding of profit and loss (P&L) accountability, business operations, and financial principles is crucial.
PC proficiency:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other relevant software is required. Excellent communication and customer service skills: The ability to effectively communicate with technicians, customers, and other stakeholders is essential.
People leadership experience:
Experience in leading and motivating teams is beneficial.
Highly motivated and organized:
The ability to stay organized, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure is important.
