The Assistant Service Manager will support daily operations of the service department. This role works closely with the Service Manager to ensure efficient workflow, excellent customer experience, and strong team performance. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with customers and technicians to identify required maintenance Perform road test of customer vehicles Advise customers of necessary/suggested services and offer additional services and repairs Compute cost of replacement parts and labor to restore vehicle to condition specified by customer Estimate cost of mechanical, electrical, or other repairs Enter itemized estimate on service order and explain estimate to customer Schedule appointments with customer Assign work to technicians according to their skill level and have work outlined on repair order performed at the time promised to the customer Follow-up on the work in progress, inform service advisors ahead of time if time promised to customer cannot be kept and advise shop foreman if assistance becomes necessary Prepare to give accurate estimates of time of completion for each repair order written and to advise if vehicle is to be completed before or after original estimate Maintain shop capacity control and advise service advisors of capacity status throughout the day Maintain housekeeping standards in the shop, technicians' bays and service parking lot Maintain service tools and equipment and report to service manager if repairs or replacements are needed Handle customer complaints immediately and according to Spitzer's guidelines Establish and maintain 24
hour follow
up with all customers to confirm satisfaction with their service experience Strive for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departments Understand and ensure compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business Maintain high-quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks and conduct periodic spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality Ensure that the work areas and customer waiting areas are kept clean Ensure that all customers are greeted promptly and given fair estimates on costs and time required for repairs and maintenance Maintain CSI at or above designated standards Meet dealership's standards for repair/order production Follow safeguards rules and regulations Other related duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience as an Assistant Service Manager or Service Advisor required Strong record of positive CSI results Team oriented Submit to and successfully complete MVR, background check, and pre-employment drug test Valid driver's license with good driving record Outgoing, upbeat personality with excellent interpersonal skills Self-starter who is internally motivated to achieve established performance goals Reliable transportation and attendance Must be authorized to work in the United States
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
At least 1-2 years sales experience required, dealership experience preferred CDK experience
