Job Description:
Customer Success Manager | Elmhurst, Illinois | Hybrid work schedule The Customer Success Manager is responsible for managing key domestic transportation accounts, building long-term customer relationships, coordinating shipments, and ensuring exceptional service execution across all modes of domestic freight transportation. The ideal candidate will have experience in domestic freight forwarding, third-party logistics (3PL), truckload/LTL operations, or transportation brokerage, along with strong communication, problem-solving, and account management skills. Compensation & Benefits Base salary up to $80,000 depending on experience Hybrid work schedule Performance-based bonus opportunity Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays 401(k) with company match Key Responsibilities Manage and grow a portfolio of domestic freight forwarding and transportation accounts Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding shipments, pricing, service issues, and operational support Coordinate domestic freight movements including truckload (FTL), less-than-truckload (LTL), expedited, intermodal, and air freight shipments Work closely with operations, dispatch, carriers, and warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate shipment execution Monitor shipment activity and proactively communicate updates, delays, or resolutions to customers Develop strong client relationships to increase customer retention and identify growth opportunities Prepare and manage customer quotes, rate negotiations, and service agreements Analyze customer shipping trends and recommend transportation solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs Resolve billing discrepancies, claims, and service-related issues in a professional and timely manner Maintain accurate account records and activity within CRM and transportation management systems (TMS) Support business development initiatives and collaborate with sales teams on strategic accounts Qualifications 2-5+ years of experience in domestic freight forwarding, transportation brokerage, logistics, or 3PL account management Strong understanding of domestic transportation operations including FTL, LTL, expedited, and intermodal services Excellent communication, relationship management, and customer service skills Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced logistics environment Experience working with TMS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite Strong problem-solving and negotiation abilities
