Job Description

Are you a dynamic leader with a background in fleet maintenance and a passion for operational excellence? We are looking for a Service Manager to lead our shop floor, oversee a dedicated team, and ensure our operations run safely, efficiently, and to the highest industry standards. In this pivotal role, you will take full ownership of scheduling and supervising all assigned personnel, providing the daily leadership and support your team needs to perform their duties in a timely and professional manner. You will be actively involved in hiring, training, and evaluating your staff, fostering a culture of accountability and growth from day one. Beyond managing your immediate team, you will act as a key coordinator for our branch operations. This includes planning work schedules, assigning associates to specific duties, and establishing productive working relationships with outside vendors. When equipment requires external servicing, you will be responsible for following up on the additional work needed to guarantee it returns to service in peak condition. Safety and compliance are core priorities in this role; you will perform strict quality control checks to inspect and verify that all preventative maintenance and repairs are completed in accordance with DOT requirements, while ensuring full compliance with company, DOT, and OSHA guidelines at all times. To succeed in this position, you must be a hands-on leader who is ready to assist with difficult or complicated technical duties whenever necessary, and even step in to perform the duties of individual shop positions as directed by the Area Manager. You will maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment while collaborating within the branch to help increase sales, expand our local markets, and promote the business. We are looking for a professional who adheres strictly to company and location policies, prioritizes safety rules, and possesses the flexibility to work extended hours when required. Schedule and supervise activities of all assigned personnel Provide appropriate supervision to employees. Ensure all duties are performed in a timely manner Hire, train and evaluate personnel Establish and maintain good working relationships with vendors Follow up on additional work needed on any unit that leaves the shop for outside repairs Perform quality control checks to ensure that PMs, repairs, etc. are inspected and verified to have been completed in accordance with DOT requirements Comply with all Company, DOT and OSHA guidelines Work within branch environment to increase sales, expand markets and promote business Assist with performing of difficult or complicated duties as necessary Plan and prepare work schedules and assign associates to specific duties Provide training to new and existing employees on: expectations of position, how to perform duties of position, company policies, safety and other areas as necessary Perform duties of each position if necessary and other tasks as directed by Area Manager Maintain safe, clean and orderly work environment
