Job Description

Must have at least two years' experience training and coaching staff. Working knowledge of new construction connection fees, collection fees, completing applications and analyzing multiple reports. Ability to exercise tact and independent judgment in dealing with the public. Must possess excellent leadership abilities and strong team building and facilitation skills. Strong communication and excellent written and oral communication. Excellent personal computer skills including Microsoft applications and an aptitude to learn other computer software required. High school diploma or GED; college coursework in business administration or a related field preferred; four years of experience in customer service, including one year of experience in a supervisory or lead capacity; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required. The Chesterfield County Department of Utilities is seeking a leader who can successfully balance the demands of multiple priorities while maintaining positive staff relations and outstanding customer service to our residents. Work closely with the Customer Operations Manager to ensure quality of service, accuracy and timeliness of all water and wastewater applications and charges. Investigate and resolve difficult and sensitive customer inquiries and complaints. Monitor front counter statistics and customer interactions. Provide direct coaching to ensure policies, procedures and Chesterfield County's Code of Ethics are followed. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Under general supervision, performs work of moderate difficulty in supervising and participating in the work of staff engaged in providing a variety of customer assistance to the general public; performs related work as required. Monday - Friday; 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Utilities
