The City of Hampton is seeking a Solid Waste Customer Service/Enforcement Supervisor to enforce City ordinances related to the Department of Public Works' Solid Waste Division Enforcement section, and responsible for the City's Yard Waste site and Fleetmind Routing system, ensuring route optimization and safety. The class works under close to general supervision according to set procedures, but has independence in determining how or when to complete tasks.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or successful completion of GED. Three (3) years of full-time equivalent experience in Solid Waste collection activities. One (1) year of supervisory experience. One (1) year of code enforcement experience. Must possess a valid driver's license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driver's record based on the City of Hampton's criteria. This position is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City's current substance abuse policy. Must successfully pass a background check before any offer of employment or promotion.
Additional Requirements:
May require working beyond a standard 40-hour work week to include evenings and weekends. Requires working outdoors in all weather conditions. The incumbent may be considered "essential personnel" during City emergencies or at the direction of the City Manager, which may include long hours and unusual schedules.
