We work in the fuel industry, servicing gas stations, hospitals, the military, and any place with fuel systems in the Pacific Northwest. Our team installs and maintains fuel pumps, tanks, dispensers, vapor recovery systems, point-of-sale systems, and many other systems and equipment used for fuel distribution and storage. We also offer air quality and environmental testing through our compliance testing department. The Field Service Manager will support the Service Division by coordinating, monitoring, and following through with activities related to our field service operations across branches in their assigned region, primarily Federal Way, Everett, and Tacoma. This position manages technical service teams, estimating and sourcing service parts, and driving operational efficiency. This is a high-volume Field Service Manager role that requires strong people leadership, exceptional organizational skills, and a customer-focused approach. The position serves as a critical link between field service technicians and customers, ensuring efficient service delivery, clear communication, and a positive customer experience while managing day-to-day operational demands. Job Duties Lead, develop, and supervise a team of approximately 20-25 field service technicians responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial pumps, compressors, piping systems, and related equipment. Manage daily field operations, including workforce planning, scheduling, dispatching, workload balancing, and resource allocation to ensure timely and efficient service delivery. Provide technical leadership and operational support to field personnel, assisting with complex troubleshooting, escalated service issues, and critical customer situations. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement by ensuring compliance with company policies, industry regulations, safety programs, and customer site requirements. Serve as the primary point of contact for customer escalations, maintaining strong customer relationships through proactive communication, issue resolution, and high-quality service execution. Monitor service quality, technician productivity, response times, and customer satisfaction metrics to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives. Train, mentor, and evaluate field service personnel, providing coaching, performance management, and career development opportunities. Oversee service-related documentation, including work orders, maintenance agreements, invoices, warranty claims, service reports, and project records, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Ensure customer, service, and asset data are accurately maintained within company systems, databases, and reporting platforms. Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Purchasing, and other departments to support project execution, equipment readiness, parts availability, and customer requirements. Review project scopes, service contracts, customer requirements, and bid packages to ensure proper execution and resource planning. Manage regional service performance, including labor utilization, overtime, travel expenses, equipment costs, parts consumption, and overall profitability. Track, analyze, and report key operational metrics, including safety performance, workforce utilization, service revenue, backlog, response times, customer satisfaction, and financial results. Prepare and present regular operational updates, forecasts, and performance reports to senior leadership. Oversee fleet management activities for the service team, including vehicle maintenance, utilization, and equipment readiness. Identify operational risks, service challenges, and process improvement opportunities, implementing corrective actions to improve efficiency, profitability, and customer outcomes. Partner with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure a consistent, professional service experience and strengthen long-term business relationships.
Your Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in industrial service, maintenance, manufacturing, construction, compressed air systems, pump systems, or a related mechanical field. 3+ years of experience leading and developing teams of 20+ technicians in a field service or industrial operations environment. Experience supporting customers in industrial, manufacturing, construction, wastewater, military, or government environments. Strong technical knowledge of industrial pumps, compressors, compressed air systems, piping, and related equipment is a plus. Proven ability to manage personnel, scheduling, field operations, customer relationships, and service delivery. Working knowledge of project coordination, job walks, scope reviews, and collaboration with sales and operations teams. Experience enforcing safety programs and regulatory compliance standards in industrial or construction settings.
