Job Description

Mortgage Customer Service Specialist 100% On‑Site | Tempe, AZ (85288) Full‑Time | Contract‑to‑Hire (4-5 months) Entry Level | Call Center / Customer Support About the Role We are hiring Mortgage Customer Service Specialists to join a fast‑paced, onsite call center environment supporting homeowners with mortgage‑related questions and past‑due payments. This role blends inbound customer service with outbound outreach and is ideal for individuals who enjoy helping people, working toward goals, and building experience in financial services. This position offers structured training, clear performance expectations, and strong long‑term growth potential for high performers. Key Responsibilities Handle inbound and outbound calls in a high‑volume call center environment Speak with homeowners who are past due on their mortgage to understand their situation Work with customers to develop customized payment solutions to bring accounts current Assist inbound callers with general mortgage servicing questions (payments, escrow, payoffs, website support, etc.) Process mortgage payments accurately and securely Refer eligible customers to refinancing teams when appropriate Document all customer interactions clearly and accurately in internal systems Meet performance, quality, schedule adherence, and attendance expectations Follow compliance guidelines and company policies Represent the organization professionally in every interaction What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Customer service experience (call center preferred, but not required) Strong phone communication skills and professionalism Ability to work in a fast‑paced, structured environment Attention to detail with accurate documentation skills Basic technical proficiency (Windows‑based systems, Microsoft Office, navigating applications) Reliable attendance and punctuality Preferred Qualifications Experience in financial services, mortgage, or collections customer service Inbound and outbound call center experience Sales or negotiation experience Schedule & Work Environment 100% On‑Site in Tempe, AZ Blended call environment (inbound first, then outbound) Approximately 7 calls per hour Structured breaks and lunches Strict attendance expectations Training Schedule Weeks 1-2 (Corporate Training): Day 1: 8:00 AM
  • 5:00 PM Day 2 onward: 7:00 AM
  • 4:00 PM Assessments conducted during training Weeks 3-4 (Nesting / Academy): 9:00 AM

9:00 AM
  • 6:00 PM Compensation & Growth Competitive hourly pay with overtime eligibility Contract‑to‑Hire opportunity with strong long‑term potential Performance‑based bonus eligibility upon conversion Hands‑on exposure to mortgage servicing and industry regulations Clear pathways into leadership, operations, compliance, analytics, and other internal roles Additional Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required (college degree preferred) Background check required (including applicable credit review) Candidates must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and consistent attendance Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tempe, AZ.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00
  • $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
