Location:
Downey, CA Job Type:
Full-Time or Part-Time Join Our New Pharmacy! We're relocating our independent community pharmacy to a medical building in Downey, and we're looking for someone with an outgoing personality who genuinely enjoys talking with people. This is more than a typical cashier position. We want someone who can make every patient feel welcomed, remembered, and appreciated. If you're naturally friendly, love meeting new people, and enjoy building relationships, we'd love to meet you. What You'll Do Welcome every patient with a smile and provide exceptional customer service. Assist patients at the register and answer basic questions. Help patients transfer their prescriptions to our pharmacy (we'll train you on the process). Walk the surrounding medical building to introduce yourself to patients and let them know about our services. Explain benefits such as free prescription transfers, free delivery, and personalized service. Build relationships with patients, medical office staff, and providers. Answer phone calls and direct patients appropriately. Keep the front of the pharmacy clean, organized, and inviting. Support pharmacists and technicians with administrative and customer service tasks.
We're Looking For Someone Who Is:
Naturally warm, friendly, and energetic. Comfortable starting conversations with new people. Confident speaking with patients face-to-face. Positive, dependable, and professional. Self-motivated and willing to take initiative. Organized and detail-oriented. Passionate about helping others. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Customer service, retail, hospitality, or medical office experience preferred. Pharmacy experience is a plus but not required —we're happy to train the right person. Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred. What Makes This Position Different? Unlike large chain pharmacies, we're building a neighborhood pharmacy where relationships come first. You'll play an important role in helping us grow by creating memorable experiences for patients and introducing our services to the community. If you're the type of person who enjoys brightening someone's day, remembers customers by name, and loves interacting with people, you'll fit right in. Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay (based on experience) Paid training Opportunities for growth as our pharmacy expands Friendly, supportive team environment Employee discounts Paid time off for eligible employees We hire for attitude and personality first. If you love people and enjoy making a difference in your community, we'd love to hear from you.
