Shift :
Monday•Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, Saturdays 8:00am to 1:00pm as needed. Eligibility & Enrollment Service Representative is responsible for registering patients and managing their basic information. This role verifies patient insurance coverage/eligibility, collects and processes patient payments, and ensures accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) at the time of check-in.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Greets and checks-in patients using intake procedures, such as completion of healthcare and insurance forms. Updates Electronic Health Record (EHR) as needed at the time of check-in. Answer incoming calls and patient questions; respond to queries related to registration. Collects payment for services. Confirm and update demographics, scrub schedule, and check insurance eligibility. Makes corrections in the EHR related to demographics and insurance coverage. Performs high-volume, detail-oriented data entry Clearly communicates and provides information to patients regarding eligibility guidelines and services covered by various County, State, and federally funded programs, clinic programs, and service information in person and physically. Enroll eligible patients into free or low-cost sliding fee discount coverage for medical, dental, or optometry services. Coordinate with other departments when needed to resolve registration/eligibility issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, patient-facing environment. Warm, professional in-person and telephone presence. Prior experience in administration or customer service is a plus. 1+ year of recent healthcare registration and insurance verification experience preferred. Experience with Epic EHR (patient appointment scheduling/check-in and documentation) preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, and Excel. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
