$40/hour PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a global telecommunications innovator to hire a highly skilled Field Service Representative to support critical network infrastructure projects throughout California. This is more than a field service role—it's an opportunity to help modernize telecommunications networks by safely decommissioning legacy equipment in live data centers, central offices, and remote network sites. Your expertise will directly support the evolution of communications technology while ensuring the integrity, safety, and reliability of customer networks. What You'll Do As a Field Service Representative, you'll independently manage field activities across multiple sites while ensuring strict compliance with safety, documentation, and operational procedures.
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
Telecommunications Equipment Decommissioning Conduct site audits to verify equipment locations against work orders Log into network devices to verify circuit IDs and confirm no active customer traffic is present before decommissioning Perform power clamp testing and accurately record electrical readings Safely de-energize equipment by removing fuses, tripping breakers, and applying Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures Execute Circuit in View (CIV) testing as directed by client engineering teams Decommission legacy telecommunications equipment in live data center and central office environments Safety & Compliance Complete a Pre-Work Safe Plan before commencing work at every site, every day Follow all safety protocols and compliance requirements without exception Maintain strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures Ensure all work is completed safely within live operational environments Escalate issues and out-of-scope activities appropriately to project leadership Documentation & Reporting Update client systems with project status, outcomes, and daily activity logs on the day work is performed Upload site photographs and required documentation according to established procedures Maintain accurate records of testing, decommissioning activities, and safety documentation Provide timely communication regarding site discoveries, risks, blockers, and project updates Travel & Site Management Travel throughout California to assigned project locations Work independently across data centers, telecommunications facilities, urban office environments, and remote infrastructure sites Support occasional overnight travel for rural or remote assignments Required Qualifications Technical Experience Minimum 3 years of experience as a Field Engineer, Network Engineer, Telecommunications Technician, or similar role Hands-on experience maintaining or decommissioning telecommunications equipment in live data centers or central office environments Experience working with: Nortel

Pay Details:
