We are looking for a full-time Customer Service team member to join our team. In this role, you will assist customers with orders, loading, and general yard support while helping ensure a safe, organized, and customer-focused environment. This position requires strong communication, safe work practices, and the ability to work outdoors in a fast-paced lumber yard setting. This position is located onsite and is not a remote or hybrid position. Responsibilities/Job Description Assist customers with orders and help direct them to the appropriate areas of the yard. Support customers with loading materials into vehicles while following safe work practices. Read and understand invoices, order tags, customer orders, and return slips to help ensure accurate service. Help resolve customer questions, concerns, and routine issues in a professional and courteous manner. Support daily yard workflow by covering assigned areas and assisting team members as needed. Help maintain a clean and organized yard by clearing aisles, bays, wrapping materials, and packing bands. Safely operate tools and equipment used in the yard, including saws, box cutters, tin snips, and tape measures. Perform additional duties and assignments as needed to support yard operations and customer needs. Required Qualifications / Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Customer service experience and six months to one year of relevant work experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to read and understand customer orders and related documentation. Ability to work independently, follow direction, and collaborate effectively with others. Ability to safely operate yard tools, machinery, and equipment, or ability to learn. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform the physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and moving lumber and building materials, with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a lumber yard, building materials environment, or outdoor customer-facing role. Familiarity with loading customer vehicles and handling materials safely. Experience using handheld tools, yard equipment, or radios in a fast-paced work environment. Familiarity with lumber and building materials.
