Service Advisor/ Clerk FF Gomez Santa Fe Springs, CA Job Details Full-time $24 - $26 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Health insurance Life insurance Qualifications Interpersonal skills Administrative experience High school diploma or GED Attention to detail Time management Full Job Description The Service Advisor/Clerk serves as the primary point of contact for customers and is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while coordinating repair and maintenance services. This position is a combination between outside and office setting. This Position schedules appointments, prepares repair orders, communicates with technicians and customers, maintains accurate service records and ensures the efficient flow of work through the service department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greet customers professionally and determine their service needs. Schedule service appointments and manage daily service workflow. Check in and out trucks Assign job numbers Prepare accurate repair orders and document customer concerns. Excel sheets update Receive inventory Create decal labels using the vision engraving system Log trucks Communicate with technicians regarding vehicle or equipment status and repair progress. Keep customers informed of repair updates, delays, and additional repair recommendations. Obtain customer authorization before performing additional repairs or services. Prepare invoices and process customer payments. Maintain accurate customer, vehicle, and service records. Coordinate warranty claims and service documentation as applicable. Order office supplies. Coordinate truck pick ups and deliveries Dispatch drivers Verify completed work before releasing vehicles or equipment to customers. Handle customer concerns and resolve service-related issues professionally. Maintain confidentiality of customer and company information. Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards. Perform general office duties, including filing, answering telephones, email correspondence, and data entry. Assist with inventory tracking and administrative support as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Education High school diploma or GED required. Bilingual (Spanish) highly recommended Additional vocational, automotive, or customer service training is preferred. Experience One to three years of customer service or administrative experience preferred. Service advisor experience in an automotive, fleet, equipment, or repair environment is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Basic mathematical and accounting skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized service management systems. Ability to maintain professionalism when handling difficult customer situations. Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Frequently use hands and fingers to operate office equipment and computers. Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone. May occasionally enter shop or service areas where exposure to noise, moving equipment, and varying weather conditions exists. Work Environment Work is performed in both an office and service shop environment. Employees may be exposed to moderate noise levels, vehicle exhaust, grease, dust, and changing weather conditions while entering the service area.
