In this role, you will handle transactions accurately at the point of sale (POS) system, assist customers with their shopping experience, and promote products through engaging demos and upselling techniques. Your friendly communication skills and attention to detail will ensure smooth operations while fostering customer loyalty. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop retail sales expertise in a fast-paced grocery store setting. Duties Operate the POS system efficiently to process sales, returns, and exchanges with accuracy and speed Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and resolving concerns promptly Conduct product demos to educate customers about new or featured items, encouraging additional sales through upselling strategies Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability Handle cash transactions with precision, including cash handling and basic math calculations for change and totals Assist with inventory management tasks such as stock replenishment and inventory counts Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when taking orders or answering customer inquiries over the phone Support team members with supervising experience by collaborating effectively and maintaining a positive store environment Experience Prior experience in food sales or cashiering is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are essential Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is advantageous Bilingual skills are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively Strong communication skills to engage customers confidently and clearly Experience in grocery store operations, merchandising, or product demonstrations is beneficial Basic math skills for cash handling, sales calculations, and retail math tasks Supervising experience is valued for those interested in leadership opportunities within the team Join us to be part of an energetic environment where your contributions directly impact customer satisfaction!
