Faris Machinery is seeking a highly motivated and customer‑focused Service Advisor to join our service team. The Service Advisor serves as the primary point of contact for service customers, guiding them through the service process and ensuring clear communication from initial contact through completion of work. This role focuses on managing customer expectations, coordinating machine intake and discharge, as well as maintaining a smooth flow of work through the shop. The Service Advisor plays a key role in reviewing estimates to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, technical aptitude, and a commitment to delivering a transparent and positive customer experience.Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
Function as the primary point of contact for service customers, providing professional and courteous assistance. Listen attentively to customer concerns and accurately document equipment issues. Maintain a positive and proactive approach to customer interactions, resolving issues promptly and effectively. Provide realistic timeframes and regular updates to customers on the status of their repairs. Ensure customer satisfaction through follow-up communication and feedback collection.Service Coordination:
Coordinate with the shop foreman, service manager, and technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion. Maintain accurate service records and documentation. Assist in optimizing technician utilization and shop efficiency.Estimating and Invoicing:
Review estimates for accuracy/clarity and send them to customers. Follow up with customers regarding unapproved estimates. Explain service recommendations and costs clearly and concisely. Collect downpayments and outstanding balances from non-account-based customers. Verify that work orders accurately reflect approved estimates, technician labor entries, parts issued, and applicable warranty or customer‑pay distinctions. Resolve discrepancies as needed.Technical Knowledge and Collaboration:
Develop a strong understanding of heavy equipment systems and components. Perform initial equipment intake and triage by documenting reported issues, conducting visual inspections, and ensuring concerns are clearly communicated to technicians. Stay updated on industry trends and technical advancements. Maintain a safe and organized work environment.Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Service Advisor or in a customer‑facing service coordination role within heavy equipment, automotive, or similar industries. Strong customer service and communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment. Technical aptitude and understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Proficiency in computer software and service management systems. Valid driver's license. Heavy equipment knowledge is a strong plus. Experience with warranty administration is a plus.Benefits:

Work will most often be performed in the office, parts and shop areas. Occasionally the employee will be required to be outside in the yard. Some exposure to rain, sleet, snow, dust, mud, heat, cold, noise and other conditions common to construction equipment dealerships. Requires working around various oils, greases and acids, and may occasionally be exposed to noxious fumes and gases such as those from engine exhaust.Note:
