Veterinary Receptionist / Client Care Representative (Part-Time)Embrace Animal Hospital | Middlebury, CT Are you the kind of person who enjoys helping others, stays calm under pressure, and takes pride in creating a positive experience for everyone you meet? Embrace Animal Hospital is seeking a part-time Veterinary Receptionist / Client Care Representative to join our team. This position is approximately 20-25 hours per week and includes two Saturday mornings per month. While experience in veterinary medicine is a plus, character, professionalism, and attitude are even more important. We are looking for someone who is dependable, hardworking, drama-free, and genuinely enjoys helping both people and animals. About the Role As the first person our clients interact with, you will play a critical role in shaping their experience at Embrace Animal Hospital. You will be the face and voice of our practice, helping clients navigate everything from routine wellness visits to emotional and unexpected medical situations. You'll work closely with our doctors, technicians, and assistants to ensure clear communication and a seamless experience for every patient and client. This is not simply an administrative position. It is a relationship-building position that requires compassion, professionalism, critical thinking, and teamwork. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate: Is dependable and accountable Communicates professionally and confidently Enjoys building relationships with clients Works well with both clinical staff and fellow receptionists Is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Can multitask while maintaining attention to detail Demonstrates good judgment and decision-making skills Remains calm and professional during stressful situations Takes ownership of responsibilities and follows through Has a positive attitude and contributes to a drama-free workplace Loves animals and is comfortable interacting with and handling pets when needed Understands that excellent customer service and patient care go hand in hand Responsibilities Responsibilities may include: Greeting clients and patients Scheduling appointments and managing the daily schedule Answering multi-line phones Triaging client concerns and communicating effectively with the medical team Processing payments and maintaining accurate records Assisting with client education and communication Supporting patient check-in and discharge processes Helping maintain efficient communication between front desk and clinical staff Assisting with administrative tasks and hospital organization Providing compassionate support to clients during difficult situations Required Qualifications Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational abilities Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively Basic computer proficiency Ability to work as part of a team Comfort around dogs, cats, and other companion animals Professional appearance and demeanor Commitment to providing exceptional client service Preferred Qualifications Veterinary reception experience Veterinary assistant experience Customer service experience Experience in healthcare, hospitality, or other client-facing professions Familiarity with veterinary practice software Schedule Part-time position (20-25 hours per week) Two Saturday mornings per month are required Our Culture At Embrace Animal Hospital, we believe culture matters.
