Marine Service Writer/Manager Bradford Marine - 4.1 Fort Lauderdale, FL Job Details Full-time $85,000 - $95,000 a year 2 hours ago Qualifications Technical engineering Writing skills Leading team collaboration initiatives Managing projects Cross-functional team management Cross-functional communication Full Job Description Position Summary The Marine Service Writer/Manager is responsible for overseeing all phases of project development, planning, and execution to ensure successful delivery. Serving as the primary point of contact for clients, this role facilitates clear communication, alignment of expectations, and overall client satisfaction. This role requires collaboration with department managers and subcontractors to coordinate resources, streamline workflows, and ensure projects are completed efficiently. The Marine Service Writer is committed to delivering exceptional service, maintaining high-quality standards, and maximizing overall value for clients and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and oversee resource scheduling to ensure workload and deadlines are managed effectively Establish, promote, and ensure quality on all projects and work performed Manage all communication with clients (if designated or acting as project manager) and provide technical support to clients for multiple ongoing projects Project management, including negotiating scopes and fees, managing budgets and resources, and producing deliverables on schedule Client development, in serving as a direct client point of contact as a project primary technical lead Proactively identifies dependencies between teams and ensures communications to align on project delivery criteria Frequently check for and promptly reply to emails, text messages, and phone calls Consult with and notify client and office regarding project status and schedule, delays, interruptions, anticipated challenges, and successes Utilize sound judgment to assess the urgency of issues and determine appropriate means of and times to communicate Organizes scope of work with department heads, vendors, or sub-contractors Work with the billing department to review prebills for accuracy before processing and submitting to customers Review all work orders to ensure worked that was performed is accurate Note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Competencies Problem Solving Project Management Communication Customer Service Education, Work Experience, Licenses, and Certificates Years of relevant work experience required: 5 years' experience managing various projects A strong understanding of maritime industry standards and engineering systems Ability to communicate technical/complex information to non-technically proficient individuals both verbally and in writing Excellent interpersonal relationship skills to effectively interact with customers Strong leadership qualities, including diplomacy and ability to interface with cross-functional teams such as Finance and Supply Chain Excellent time management and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines Ability to work independently and accomplish work through others Required licenses or certificates: Project Management Methodologies Training or Certification preferred Physical Demands and Work Environment Requires climbing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and twisting Requires the ability to use speech, vision, and hearing Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds Requires the use of office equipment and computer Exposure to changes in temperature and humidity The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions.
