Job Description

Overview Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, organized, and plant-savvy team member to join our nursery team. This position is primarily responsible for inventory management, customer sales calls, and order coordination, while also assisting with general nursery operations and outdoor tasks as needed. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with inventory systems, and enjoys building relationships with customers. Inventory accuracy, customer communication, and plant knowledge are key components of this role. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Inventory Management (Primary Responsibility) Maintain accurate inventory records for plant material and nursery products. Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies. Track incoming and outgoing plant material. Update availability lists and inventory databases. Ensure plant tags, pricing, and product information are accurate. Coordinate with management on inventory planning and stock levels. Sales & Customer Relations Make outbound sales and follow-up calls to customers, landscapers, contractors, and wholesale accounts. Provide plant availability, pricing, and product information. Process orders and coordinate order fulfillment. Maintain strong customer relationships through professional communication. Assist with customer inquiries via phone, email, and in person. Nursery Operations Assist customers with plant selection and loading when needed. Help receive, stage, and organize incoming plant shipments. Assist with general nursery maintenance and outdoor tasks as required. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Qualifications Nursery, horticulture, greenhouse, or landscape industry experience preferred. Strong plant identification and plant care knowledge preferred. Experience with inventory management, purchasing, or order processing. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Proficient with computers, spreadsheets, and inventory software. Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with nursery operations as needed. Preferred Skills Knowledge of nursery inventory systems and POS software. Experience working with wholesale and retail customers. Strong attention to detail and data accuracy. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
