Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Service Writer to join our automotive service team! In this vital role, you will serve as the primary communicator between customers and our skilled technicians, ensuring a seamless flow of information and exceptional service experience. Your expertise in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and customer service will drive customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Duties Greet customers warmly and listen carefully to their vehicle concerns to accurately document service needs Write detailed repair orders, estimates, and invoices using auto estimating software Communicate effectively with technicians regarding vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and estimated timeframes Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire services, alignments, suspension work, brake repairs, and transmission services to maximize customer value Coordinate with parts departments for availability of necessary parts and ensure timely completion of repairs Handle cash transactions, process payments accurately, and maintain precise financial records Maintain comprehensive records of all service activities, customer interactions, and vehicle histories Experience Proven dealership experience or background in auto service management is highly preferred Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and repair procedures including transmissions, diesel engines, air brakes, shocks & struts, and auto body repair Hands-on experience with automotive repair processes such as oil changes, wheel alignments, suspension work, tire servicing, brake repairs, and auto estimating software Demonstrated ability in customer service with excellent communication skills to explain technical issues clearly to clients Experience in auto sales or automobile sales environments is a plus Familiarity with cash handling procedures and maintaining accurate financial documentation Knowledge of dealership operations including upselling techniques and service writing best practices Join us to be a key player in delivering outstanding automotive care!
