The Service Writer creates, manages, and invoices all customer and internal work orders as well as administers, processes, and authorizes warranty claims based on the manufacturer / supplier's criteria. The position works closely with the HCE Service Department Lead(s) and dealer After Sales Department to coordinate and organize Service Department administrative duties to assist in growing dealership Service Department profitability. Accurately completes documents required to process work order and claims, and forwards them to the customers and manufacturer/supplier; conducts follow-up to completion. Ensures that amounts billed to customers are correct & follows up with customers to ensure timely payment. Processes warranty work orders & service inspections for submission in accordance with company and manufacturer guidelines. Responsible for the verification of manufacturer or supplier's criteria for warranty. Ensures that amounts claimed correspond to the criteria of the manufacturer / supplier. Opens and closes customer, internal, and warranty work orders in a timely manner. Regularly reviews and follows up on work orders and claims to obtain prompt payment. Responsible for the authorization and timely release of all warranty claims and service inspections for dealership. Reviews and completes goodwill agreements as approved by Service Department Lead(s). Analyzes claims denied by the manufacturer / supplier and, if applicable, resubmits timely. Completes supplemental claims to ensure maximum warranty recovery. Reviews claims exceeding the last labor date required by the manufacturer. Provides accounting with the documents required to process corresponding paperwork (amounts received, payments, and credits for warranties). Ensures that defective parts are returned to the manufacturer / supplier timely. Responsible for processing of all Claim Discrepancy Reports (CDR). Adheres to established company values, practices, policies and procedures at all times. Follows and supports compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations and standards. Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location. Support service and parts departments in ensuring the highest customer satisfaction on all dealer activities. This position includes frequent travel by auto; valid driver's license with a verifiably safe driving history is required. Position may require occasional overnight travel and weekend or evening work Your profile: Associate's degree in related service field or equivalent experience, preferred. 5+ years' job related experience, highly desired. Excellent customer service skills. Proven exceptional written and oral communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Strong attention to detail & well organized. Strong ability to multi-task and follow through with defined tasks. Ability to handle stressful situations professionally; the ability to exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and maintaining constructive working relationships. Working knowledge of CLAAS machinery, a plus. Farm background desirable. Valid driver's license with a verifiable safe driving history / ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. Ability to travel as needed, may require some overnight travel and weekend or evening work. Must be self-sufficient with a proven ability to work independently and a strong willingness to learn. Must be able to meet deadlines and handle a high volume workload in a fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail.Full-time Benefits Package Include:
