With a 40+ year operating history, DTP serves as a trusted and crucial partner to both OEMs and operators for new railcar production and ongoing aftermarket support.
Job Description:
Customer Service Specialist Position Summary The Customer Service Specialist serves as the primary liaison between our customers and our internal operations. This role is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of a customer's experience—from the initial Request for Quote (RFQ) to order entry and status updates. Utilizing our Epicor ERP system, you will work closely with Purchasing and Manufacturing to ensure customer inquiries are answered accurately and production data remains reconciled.
Key Responsibilities Communication & Inquiry Management:
• Act as the primary point of contact for all incoming customer phone calls and emails. Provide professional, timely, and accurate responses to inquiries regarding product information and general requests.
Quoting & RFQ Processing:
Manage the Request for Quote (RFQ) process, ensuring all technical and commercial requirements are gathered. Distribute completed quotes to customers and follow up to secure orders.
Order Management & Data Entry:
Perform accurate data entry for all incoming Purchase Orders (POs) and generate Sales Orders within the ERP. Monitor order status and proactively provide updates to customers. Input invoices into the ERP system along with submitting these invoices to our customers through email and some cases portals.
Internal Coordination:
Collaborate daily with the Manufacturing team to verify production timelines and Purchasing to confirm material availability.
Administrative & Financial Support:
Input invoices into the ERP system perform data reconciliation to ensure alignment between sales orders and financial records, With some AP/AR responsibilities. Execute other duties as necessary to support the general operations of the front office and production teams.
Qualifications Experience:
2+ years of customer service experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial distribution environment.
Systems Expertise:
Strong proficiency in ERP/MRP systems is required (experience with Epicor is a plus, but the ability to navigate complex database environments is critical).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel for data reconciliation.
Detail Oriented:
Exceptional accuracy in data entry; must be comfortable reconciling numbers and verifying multi-line orders.
Communication:
Professional verbal and written skills with the ability to translate technical production updates into customer-friendly communication.
Pay:
$22.00 - $28.00 per hour
