Cashier/Customer Service

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service while efficiently handling transactions. Your ability to communicate effectively and manage various tasks will contribute to a positive shopping experience for our customers in a grocery store environment. Duties Greet customers warmly and assist them with their inquiries. Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for processing transactions accurately. Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision. Provide product demonstrations to enhance customer understanding and engagement. Upsell products by identifying customer needs and suggesting relevant items. Maintain merchandising standards by organizing displays and ensuring product availability. Stock shelves and ensure that all products are properly labeled and priced. Assist in supervising junior staff members, providing guidance and support as needed. Utilize phone etiquette when answering customer calls or inquiries. Resolve customer complaints in a professional manner, ensuring satisfaction. Skills Strong customer service skills with a focus on creating positive experiences. Proficiency in cashiering and cash handling procedures. Basic math skills for accurate transaction processing and retail math applications. Experience in retail sales with an understanding of merchandising principles. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Bilingual skills are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse customers. Knowledge of product demos to effectively showcase items to customers. Supervising experience is advantageous for team leadership roles within the store. Familiarity with stocking procedures to maintain inventory levels.
