Job Description

Insurance Claims Advocate Hopkinsville, KY 42240 Hybrid work From $45,000 a year - Full-time From $45,000 a year - Full-time Higgins Insurance is a locally owned independent insurance agency founded in 1897. Our main office is in Hopkinsville, KY with satellite locations in Cadiz, KY, Pembroke, KY and Clarksville, TN. We are looking for a customer service-oriented Claims Advocate to join our team in the Hopkinsville office.
Responsibilities for this position include:
Communicate with clients to retrieve the details required for the loss notice. Report loss information to the appropriate insurance company the same day received. Give prompt and courteous service on a same-day basis to all clients. Advise insureds and claimants on processes necessary for loss settlement. Follow up with insurance companies for the timely and accurate settlement of losses. Authorize claim payments within agency authority. Oversee maintenance of loss history, including recording of payments and closure of claims. Document all material conversations with insureds and/or carriers regarding exposures and coverages. Greet clients on the phone and in the office and direct them to the appropriate department as necessary. Process customer payments with the appropriate insurance company. Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred. Property and Casualty Insurance license and experience preferred but not required. Insurance, Finance, and/or customer service background a plus. Must possess the ability to use a personal computer, calculator, agency automation system, and demonstrate proficiency in various software programs, including but not limited to all Microsoft Office software suite programs. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, multitasking office environment.
