Customer Service Representative Reports to:
Director, Customer Service Summary:
Provides business activity support within a given operational region. Ensures that customers receive the best sales service possible through processing orders, preparing general correspondence, and coordinating with other departments as required. Acts as customer contact regarding scheduling and shipping.
Major Duties :
Books, enters, and sets appointments of orders in service area Solicits and accepts loads based on truck availability and profitability to PTL Responds to customers' questions, concerns and complaints in a professional and timely fashion Informs customer immediately if there are any interruptions in service Enters service failures when required, and immediately notifies other applicable customer service reps, Planners, and Directors. Telemarkets, proactively, especially high priority accounts Contacts all priority accounts daily Assists in sales support of new business and new traffic lines based on the company business plan Provides Regional Planner backup Assists in the planning function Obtains and enters all directions to shippers and consignees Maintains goodwill of customer during service period and promotes sales to existing and potential customers Recommends modifications based upon information obtained from the field Assesses service performance and customer satisfaction Deals directly with customers on service problems Attempts to maximize PTL's profitability every day using freight solicitor tools Manages trailer pools, drop trailers, and overall trailer activity Coordinates schedule changes with appropriate departments Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Specifications Experience:
2+ years of exposure to related level of customer service
Education:
High school graduate with 2 years of experience or college graduate
Special Skills:
Keyboarding, computer operation, and telephone presence skills.
Physical Requirements:
Extended sitting, keyboarding, telephone communication
